Have you experienced intense heartbreak, trauma and pain? Does it feel like you just can’t make it out of grief? Do you feel that you have been punished except you don’t know what you did? Does this life just seem too hard?
I too, understand that pain. I too, understand that desperation for some type of hope. I too, felt that not many people understood my pain. My six-month-old son Peyton died from head injuries he sustained while attending an in-home daycare in January of 2012. After his death I was so angry, bitter, lonely and terribly frustrated that nobody was “paying for” his death. I fought against the ‘systems’ to try and bring my son justice. I fought against myself to not give up and let the depression completely take over. I fought society by feeling like I had to “get over” his death and just continue on. And then in April of 2015, when I thought it couldn’t get any worse my newborn son Tayden died in my arms from complications of Down Syndrome. Now, I was completely broken open. How much more can one person take? I was leveled down to nothing and there was no “fight” in me any longer. And then it happened…. A medium came across my path. She brought me the answers that nobody else could. She was able to explain my own spiritual experiences since my sons’ deaths and validate the spiritual messages that my own daughter had delivered. I started to connect with Spirit and find hope that I could get past these tragedies. My perspective was able to change and I was able to look at trauma and heartbreak differently. The new question to be had was, what am I supposed to learn or gain by enduring this? And THAT question alone helped to catapult a life changing spiritual awakening. This is MY story…

Courtney Pottebaum is a counselor, empath, and Reiki Master. She is on a path of spiritual enlightenment to help others see out of their dark situations. Healing is achievable and experiencing life through and after pain is possible. HOPE and LOVE to all you on your journeys.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Amazing and Painful Journey It is difficult to write a review for a nonfiction work that covers a topic so raw and unfathomable. How do you comment upon a mother’s journal which lays bare her very soul, revealing thoughts of anguish, anger, and a search for justice? For me, this book was an amazing journey into the heart of a mother speaking her heart in real time. The author is unapologetic in her grief, hatred, and search for earthly and divine answers. This book is an emotional experience for both reader and author, a statement almost ridiculous in its understatement. Yet you cannot help being suffocated by the pain as you try to empathize with an unimaginable sense of loss and grief. As a reader you will be saddened, horrified, angered, and empowered to find something larger than yourself in your own life. Regardless of your beliefs, you will be dared and challenged to consider the spiritual world that remains a mystery to all of us. And at the end of this book, which honors two little boys and a mother’s love, you will be rejuvenated to search for your own understanding of your place in God’s kingdom. I challenge you to read this book and remain unchanged! 5.0 out of 5 stars Moving, real and raw As I mentioned in the title this book is real and raw. The author tells the story by using the actual journal entries she made along her journey. There is no holding back, these emotions are full and real and depict a picture of grief that is not usually talked about within polite society. There is this notion that you process through the stages of grief and at the end you are good and move on. This book shows that this is not always the case, sometimes grief is messy and doesn’t follow the “rules”. Sometimes it just seems like bad things keep happening and you might get to your lowest point and think that there is no hope, but ultimately there is and this story depicts that no matter how bad it gets, there is always hope and healing can be achieved. 5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for those who are dealing with their own personal heartbreak An amazing read showing there is always light at the end of the tunnel, even in the middle of complete and utter dispair. And even though things may not work out the way you want, they can still work out in a way. This is not just for those going through their own personal struggle, it’s a helpful tool for those who are witnessing someone else’s struggle. It’s a reminder that while the affected person/people may put on a good show, they may not be as ok as they seem. 5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, MUST READ!!! This book is Amazing! It is so sad yet so powerful. My family are THE true definition of real life Super Hero’s ❤️ They have endured so much pain and I am truly happy that they were able to share their story with the world! This book is a MUST READ! 5.0 out of 5 stars Truly inspirational true story about loss and the journey through. Such an emotional read! It takes you through all the heartbreak and sadness this family has endured and how they have overcome great loss to find true spiritual healing. Very inspiring! Thank you for sharing your story to help others heal and find what they need to bring them back from hell too! 5.0 out of 5 stars Wow The journey this family has been through is gut wrenching.
