5.0 out of 5 stars This is the advice people need when coming home John Mandalla has written a tremendously useful, greatly needed book about people returning from prison. With all the talk about transitional classes inside, nothing really prepares a person for reentering society. This book is a much-needed resource, not only for the persons themselves, but for their friends and families. 5.0 out of 5 stars A serious Book for a serious felon This is a well thought-out book from an individual who is serious about changing his life. Such a serious fellow who is anal retentive. This book won’t fit the vast majority of inmates coming out of prison. This book requires you to focus, concentrate and make great efforts to present yourself as a serious and changed man. I would say that this book will work for people only if you work the book the way it is presented. I bought the book for a friend of mine who is in prison and will be leaving in period of 18 months. 4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Resource! This is an excellent book for the formerly incarcerated and should be made available for all those returning from prison or jail. 5.0 out of 5 stars Simple to follow, to the point, and won’t overwhelm you! This book is a handy and informative guide which helps nudge you in the right direction upon release from prison. This book is perfect for people who are still in prison awaiting release, as well as those who have been released. 5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Reference Guide for anyone recently released! A handy reference guide for anyone about to be released, recently released or anyone with a loved one recently released. Small enough to keep in your pocket or purse to quickly refer to when in a situation that you may not be familiar with when transitioning back into society. Should be used by Prison ministry, re-entry programs, half houses. Thank you John for sharing this valuable information. 5.0 out of 5 stars I gave one to a family member, everyone needs this if they face this issue We need to get these in the hands of as many people we know who are incarcerated or are coming out of prison. There are simple, step-by-step instructions on how to prepare yourself, what goals to set, how to reach them, and how to remain inspired to create a life for yourself while maintaining peace with your situation. He goes from the day you are being released to how to cope with day one, how to prepare for those things, what to think about, what to set up, and how to handle yourself throughout. It’s handy and it fits in your pocket (if you are wearing men’s pants. We won’t talk about the pockets in women’s clothing!). This book is essential and it’s a quick and easy reference. It won’t overwhelm its reader, it’s straight and to the point. What an extremely useful book. Of course, he knows what must be done, he has gone through it himself and is an advocate for others. This is the book you need for your incarcerated or soon-to-be-released friends and family.
